I needed to make a trip out to Costco today, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to do my monthly feature “Stuff I didn’t know I needed…until I went to Costco.”
If you’re just joining me, this series is where I highlight items that I find at Costco – some may be good deals, but many of these items are simply things that catch my eye. I think anyone that loves shopping at Costco has experienced this before. You come with your list, but they you see it – that random, shiny item on an end-cap or buried down the kitchen appliance aisle. Perhaps it’s an item you’ve never seen before, but instantly, you recognize that your life would be better because of it. Suddenly, you need it, even though you didn’t know you needed it until that moment.
Here are some of those items I found during my trip today.
Wine Barrel serving tray for $29.99. This would be lovely for an outdoor party.
Organic maple syrup for $10.99. This seems like a good deal to me. Thoughts?
Mega Firebowl Propane camp fire for $99.99. Perfect for camping or summer nights.
I found this 2-pack of headlamps for $22.99 (after instant rebate) towards the front of the store. I think this is a great price! These are useful for night running or walking or even just projects where you need a light source and your hands free.
So this is an excellent deal I found at my Federal Way Costco store! Through 6/17 only, you can pay just $59.99 for (2) Pacific Grill $50 gift cards. That’s a 40% savings right there! I’ve heard Pacific Grill has a great happy hour too. Maybe a good last minute Father’s Day gift? I’m not sure which Costco stores may be selling these other than Federal Way, so you may wish to phone your store ahead of time to confirm.
Padded camping chair for $37.99.
I couldn’t find a price on these dashboard Boogie Boards, but I felt they were worth mentioning. We bought a couple for our kids last summer and love them! They are great for road trips, plane rides, practicing handwriting or doodling. I would imagine they are somewhere around $20.
I found these Play Packs for $9.99 at the end of the book section. There are 15 packs in every package and they include items like activity books, crayons, and stickers. They’d make great goodie bags for kids’ parties!
Comfy mermaid tail blankets for $9.99! This seems like a good price for such a fun item.
Ooooooo…. deal alert! These giant bags of Boom Chicka Pop are $5.99 AND on sale for buy one, get one free through June 27th. That works out to $2.99 per bag. Great deal!
Life Comfort Impressions Throws for just $9.99. Costco always has the most comfy blankets!
I was super excited to see that Costco had these indoor/outdoor string lights for $29.99 in stock because I was hoping to buy some to string on my pergola in the garden.
So, I totally fell for this and bought it! It’s an outdoor mat for $19.99. I love that it’s large, waterproof, and easily folds up. We do like going to the park and beach quite a bit when the weather is nice, and I hate the way beach towels don’t lay flat and aren’t large enough.
These baskets with removable stand are just $39.99. You could use them to organize produce or mail or other small items in your home or office.
Samples were on point today! I had mango sorbet, Nestle Drumsticks, chicken tikka masala (which I ended up buying), mango guava jam, and lemon meyer cookies. There were several other stations today that I didn’t end up making it to.
It’s a cooler… it’s a backpack… it’s a backpack cooler! For $19.99.
I can’t say I’ve ever seen these orchid lei single blooms for $12.99!
Looking for some way to keep your kids busy this summer? Make sure to stop by the book section and you’ll find no shortage of educational books.
Set of 5 organizers for $19.99. These are large enough to hold 12″ x 12″ sheets of paper, so great for scrapbooking or other craft projects.
These carry-on bags apparently scrunch down to fit under an airplane seat. They are on sale right now for $29.99 and I found them on the end of the aisle that sells luggage (no surprise there!).
The Ultimate Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Cookbook for just $13.99.
Home Draining Dish Rack and Drying Mat for $18.99.
Auburn Gold Course, 2 rounds of golf for $44.99. There’s another gift idea for dad for you! Incidentally, my store also was carrying golf clubs.
Ready to see how I did today?
I always consider it a good day if I can leave Costco spending less than $100. Well, today I spent $102.35, but $5 of that was tax. Even so, the only items I planned on buying were the dessert items for Father’s Day and the lights.
If you want more Costco love, check out my favorite things I bought at Costco last year, as well as these current coupon mailer deals you can score. You can also find more of my Costco posts at my Costco page.
