The kids are out of school for the summer (hooray!), so I asked if they wanted to join me for my monthly trek to Costco. They love Costco, so of course they agreed! In case you’re new to these parts, once a month I visit Costco and highlight the fun things that pop out at me. Some of these items are deals, but many are things that just tickle my fancy.
Without further ado, here are the things I didn’t know I needed until I popped into Costco last week.
We found a set of really nice smelling candles for $12.99. Great gift idea – or just keep ’em all for yourself.
Strawberry-Topped Cheesecake for $16.99. Looks beautiful and delicious!
Here’s a treat I couldn’t resist: our favorite Organic Cotton Candy Grapes! Costco was selling a 3-lb package for $8.99. That works out to $2.99 per pound, which is just about the best deal I’ve personally seen for these ultra-seasonal, specialty grapes. Would you believe they are already GONE? Yup. They lasted for 2 days in my house!
Our Costco store had this display set up, touting this as the “World’s Most Comfortable Furniture.” It definitely was comfortable, and very hard to get out of once we were in!
My daughter fell in love with these blankets/cuddle friends. $14.99.
This cutting board and colander fits right over your sink and was selling for $19.99. I’m thinking it would be perfect for cutting up produce!
How pretty are these lamps? Costco was selling the set of 2 for $69.99.
32 degree sleeveless dresses for $9.97. Seems like a good deal to me for a dress!
This handsoap is a really great deal! It was selling for just $9.97 for the set of 3. They are glass jars and include three scents – rosemary mint, creamy coconut and sweet orange. I totally bought them. I’m currently using the creamy coconut by my kitchen sink and love it.
Hiking Books! We bought the 60 Hikes within 60 Miles last year and it’s a pretty fun little resource.
This seems like a good price for Himalayan Pink Salt. Thoughts?
Only this kid would choose to wear a holiday sweater on the first day of summer! Of course, we do live in Washington and it was kind of cloudy on the day we went to the store.
Set of 3 mini lanterns on sale right now for $14.99 after instant rebate.
My kids were intrigued by this HUGE fan.
Space saving laundry basket for $16.99. I might have been more interested if it was sold in a 2- or 3-pack. (See what you do to me, Costco? You’ve conditioned me to buy things in packs.)
Mega Organizer for $59.99. Might be good for a child’s bedroom or playroom? Maybe mud room? It does include the cubes!
Metal Table Lamp for $49.99. Looks kind of minimalist sitting on this lone shelf, no?
My son was really begging for these popsicles. I want to say it was $11.99 for the 24-ct of them. We passed, because I didn’t feel like spending that amount on popsicles, but they sure do look good.
Good deal for bug repellant!
Olay Body Wash, pack for $11.99. These were large-size bottles.
Party Bucket for $16.99. Perfect for filling with ice and cold drinks for your 4th of July party!
Powerade Jugs for $9.97 – and there’s 2 in a pack! This is a really fantastic deal. I bought these a couple months ago when they were $19.97 and I felt that was a good deal. These are really good quality and my son loves taking them to soccer practice because they can hold a ton of water and ice. (Incidentally, I’ve spotted a few others just like his on the soccer fields!)
Pack of three organic raw honey bears for $11.99. We also bought this. That works out to just $3.99 per honey (or per bear?). Should last us a good long while in this house.
Salmon Rub for $9.97. Large 16 oz tub and combines smoked paprika, thyme, and brown sugar. Of course, you may be able to make something similar for less using bulk spices.
Scientific Calculator, 2 pack for $14.99. I know it’s still only June, but my store was definitely ramping up on the school supplies already. (Please… no! I’m soooo not remotely there yet!)
Sharpie and Bic sets.
Cookies! I think there are 24 pack here for $9.99.
Stadium Seat on sale for $14.99. These are GREAT for toting to track meets and I think this looks like a pretty good quality for that price.
Starbucks Tumblers, 2 pack for just $14.99. Pretty sure you’d pay that for one if you bought it at Starbucks! Also looks like it might include some instant tea or something.
That’s my cart above. I ended up spending about $84. I bought: the handsoap ($9.97), the grapes ($8.99), a dozen muffins ($7.99), a roast chicken ($4.99), Naan bread ($5.99), Tikka Masala ($13.99), 2 pack sausage lasagna ($12.99) and an Asian Cashew Chopped Salad ($4.99). Mostly stuff to get us through a busy weekend without having to do a ton of cooking. Anytime I can come out spending $100 or less (particularly with my kids in tow) I’d say is a very good day at Costco.
