AMC Discount Tuesday: $8 Movie Tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays Through 2026

AMC Discount Tuesday is now an $8 movie ticket deal for AMC Stubs members, good every Tuesday and Wednesday through the end of 2026. Stubs Insider is free to join, and on those same days members also get 50% off a small popcorn-and-drink combo.
For a family that usually pays evening prices, that can cut the cost of a movie night roughly in half. Here's how the deal works, what's left out, and how to get the lowest price.

How Does AMC Discount Tuesday Work?
AMC used to run Discount Tuesdays as a flat cheap-ticket night. In July 2025, it changed the deal to 50% off tickets on Tuesdays and added Wednesdays at the same discount. Now AMC is promoting the offer as $8 tickets on both days through the end of 2026.
The discount applies to any showtime on those days. The 7 p.m. show gets the same price as a matinee, so you don't have to rearrange your whole evening to save.
How to Get $8 AMC Tickets
- Join AMC Stubs Insider for free. Sign up on the AMC website or in the AMC Theatres app. It only takes a couple of minutes.
- Choose a Tuesday or Wednesday showtime. Morning, afternoon or night all count.
- Sign in before you check out. The price drops only when your Stubs account is attached. Log in online or in the app, or give the box office your Stubs number.
- Get the snack combo at the counter. The half-price combo is for in-theater purchases, so skip mobile food ordering if you want the deal.
What's Not Included in the $8 Price?
The fine print matters, especially if you like premium screens.
- Premium formats cost extra. You can still use the discount for IMAX, Dolby Cinema, PRIME, RealD 3D and D-Box showings. You'll still pay the premium surcharge on top.
- Fees and tax aren't discounted. Buying online or in the app can add a convenience fee. Buying at the box office avoids that fee, but popular shows can sell out.
- Some movies and holidays may be excluded. AMC has blacked out certain titles and holiday periods in the past, so check the price before you buy around Christmas.
- Prices vary by theater. The discount is based on each location's adult evening price, so a theater in a big city may land a bit above $8.
AMC Stubs Tiers: Do You Need to Pay?
No. The free tier gets the full Tuesday and Wednesday discount. Here's how the tiers compare for this deal:
| Tier | Cost | Gets the $8 Tue/Wed deal? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stubs Insider | Free | Yes | Most families and occasional moviegoers |
| Stubs Premiere | Paid yearly | Yes | People who buy tickets online often and want fee waivers |
| Stubs A-List | Paid monthly | Not needed, since tickets are included | People who see three or more movies a week |
Ways to Save Even More at AMC
- Use the large popcorn refill. Insider members get a free refill on a large popcorn every visit. If you're splitting with kids, one large tub with a refill often beats two half-price combos.
- Watch your points. Stubs points add up to $5 rewards you can use toward tickets or snacks.
- Buy discounted gift cards. Warehouse clubs and some credit card portals sell AMC gift cards below face value. Stack them with the $8 deal.
- Eat before you go. The ticket is the cheap part now. A big pre-show dinner is the easiest way to skip extra snacks.
