The long weekend also marks the unofficial start of the summer season and with that comes lots of travel, barbecues, beaches and parades!
In fact, some have even dubbed Memorial Day deals and freebies as the Black Friday of the summer!
This year, Memorial Day weekend begins on May 26th and runs through Monday the 29th. There are plenty of freebies and deals to take advantage of that weekend.

1. ACE Hardware
You just know a hardware store is going to get you and your host prepared for all the summer gatherings. And at ACE Hardware, they go all out.
Last year, their Memorial Day sales event lasted two weeks. They have yet to disclose what this year’s sale event will look like. After looking at last year’s offerings, you can expect nothing but good things this year!
Firstly, they offered plenty of grills at very low prices and for every purchased grill of $400 or more, they provided free assembly and delivery of the grill for ACE Rewards Members.
As you can imagine, all outdoor appliances and patio furniture are featured at good price points. And just for downloading their smartphone application, you can get five dollars off your next purchase.
Be sure to check with your local ACE Hardware store for the details on this year’s promotions. And remember to check early, because the sale might not last long!
2. BrandsMart USA
You know BrandsMart USA is going to have an epic Memorial Day Sale when they already have a countdown prominently featured on their website for it. It starts on May 29, 2023.
Although they don’t have any specific information pertaining to what this year’s sale will look like, the website does say that you will be able to shop the best deals on your favorite home appliances, TVs, electronics, furniture, outdoor products and more!
In 2022 they offered no interest financing for 36 months on purchases of five hundred dollars or more, in store and online. Be sure to check their website or other advertisements for more details in 2023.
3. Caribou Coffee
If you need a little afternoon pick me up, then hopefully there is a Caribou Coffee in your neck of the woods.
They have yet to announce anything for 2023, but last year they offered a free hot brewed Coffee of the Day for all active-duty servicemembers, veterans and their spouses.
This offer was valid only on the day of, however so be sure to check the terms for this year.

Maybe you’re not in the mood for a burger during Memorial Day. No problem!

Military members can enjoy 10% off of a delicious meal at Carraba’s Italian Grill during Memorial Day weekend. Simply be prepared to show a military ID.

The much anticipated City Furniture Memorial Day sale for 2023 starts early this season: on Monday, May 8th.
They have yet to release any specifics, but all indications point to what should be an amazing sale! There will be sales across the board. Living room, dining room, bedroom, you name it!
With this sale, you will save on necessities and find the best styles while staying true to your budget.

If you find yourself in America’s so-called “Historic Triangle” in Coastal Virginia during Memorial Day Weekend, make sure to add a visit to Colonial Williamsburg to your holiday itinerary!

This year, during Memorial Day weekend (or Veteran’s Day weekend, but not both), active-duty military, reservists, National Guard Personnel, or retired military and veterans are entitled to complimentary admission for themselves and up to three direct dependents.
If you cannot make it during those specific patriotic long weekends, you can still enjoy a 25% discount any other time of the year.

8. Great Wolf Lodge
As part of their Howlin’ Heroes program, Great Wolf Lodge is offering a discount of up to 25% off your next getaway to their indoor waterpark resorts.
When you book online, anytime before the end of 2023, be sure to use promocode: HEROES.
Each stay at Great Wolf Lodge includes access to their water park, daily family friendly entertainment, and comfortable and spacious rooms to relax and unwind with your whole family.

If you are active duty military personnel or a veteran, with appropriate DoD issued license, you are entitled to a ten percent off discount of your purchases at Home Depot throughout Memorial Day weekend.
This offer also extends to Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
Check with your local Home Depot for the terms and conditions of this offer. Also check with them to see what other promotions they may have storewide during the holiday weekend.
10. Kohl’s
Military Monday’s are most definitely a thing and we love it during the Memorial Day holiday!
Every Monday, Kohl’s is offering a 15% off discount to all service members for all in-store purchases.
The discount cannot be combined with other coupons, but you are still able to use your Kohl’s cash in conjunction with this offer.
There are also select categories of merchandise to which this discount will not apply.
This promotion is not specific to Memorial Day, but it is certainly noteworthy and something to take advantage of if you are or were a member of the armed forces.
Keep in mind, valid military identification is required at the point of purchase.

You could score more than fifty percent off select furniture or chairs in order to revamp your home office at Office Depot.
There were also huge savings on electronics and other tech accessories and supplies. These deals were applicable both in-store and online.
They haven’t announced any promotional details for 2023, but last year the sales started on May 26th and continued for more than a week, eeking into June.

You and I both know that Memorial Day calls for a perfectly grilled burger or steak! So Outback Steakhouse has got to be high on your list to visit during the holiday weekend.
Outback offers a Heroes Discount to celebrate all military veterans and servicemen and women. With a valid ID, you are entitled to 10% off your check, all day every day!
This discount is also available to nurses, doctors, medical staff, police, firefighters and first responders, too!

13. Saks Fifth Avenue
Saks Fifth Avenue probably won’t come to mind when you think of “Memorial Day Weekend Freebies and Deals.” But, you’d be missing out if you skip over it!
They currently have an excellent Memorial Day sale going on now. The sale features, none other than, sunglasses: very appropriate to kick off the summer season.
They offer premium brands of sunglasses, like Ray-Ban, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada, at reasonable prices.
The cheapest price of sunglasses comes out to over $150, but compared to the typical retail price, it’s more than ten percent.
14. SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment
There is no other perfect time to visit an amusement park than Memorial Day weekend. It’s a long weekend. School is letting out. The weather is perfect.
So if you are near one of the many theme parks serviced by SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment (Orlando FL, San Antonio TX, Tampa Bay FL, San Diego CA, Williamsburg and Philadelphia PA), and if you are either a current or former military, then this is definitely a freebie you would want to consider.
