I have spent hours over the last week brainstorming 2013 goals (household, career, family, health) and am finding so many wonderful free resources! I wanted to share some of them with you.
Books & Ebooks on Organizing and Simple Living
Getting it Together: your guide to setting up a home management system that works. FREE ebook when you subscribe to Kayse Pratt. (Thanks, Money Saving Mom!)
Drowning in Clutter? is a newly-released ebook from Dana White (of a Slob Comes Clean). I love Dana’s honesty and humor. If you’re looking for someone who’s been there done that and can offer hope, it’s her. Get it for just $3 through January 2nd!
ABCs of Freezer Cooking. Currently FREE on Amazon. Speaking of freezer cooking, did you see me on the news last month talking about freezer meal swaps?
Simple Living: 30 days to Less Stuff & More Life. Free right now on Amazon! I actually downloaded this one myself.
Organized Simplicity. This one is currently about $9 on Amazon, so not free. But absolutely worth every penny (or hey, check it out from your local library!) Simply THE best book I’ve ever read on simple living and scaling back.
7: an Experimental Mutiny against Excess. Our book club read this last year, and I’d definitely recommend it. Author Jen Hatmaker explores how much do we really need by engaging in an experiment to choose less. I won’t give away the entire premise of the book, but it’s absolutely thought provoking in our ever-increasing consumerist and technology-driven society.
Free Organizational Downloads and Printables
Simple Mom. This is the author of Organized Simplicity and I love her Daily Docket checklist. It’s fabulous!
iheartorganizing. She has several really pretty printables available including a weekly time chart.
Ann Voskamp has a beautiful daily checklist available for free on her site. (Heads up, her site has audio. You might want to turn down/off the speakers if this sort of thing startles you as it does me.)
Shameless plug…I released the 2013 Savings Tracker to help you track your grocery saving and spending. Check it out if you haven’t!
My End of Year Checklist
Here are some of the items I’ve completed this past week and am working on finishing today.
- Cleaned up my business accounting and records and started 2013 files.
- Organized all our family’s paperwork and started 2012 taxes. (I couldn’t do much here yet.)
- Did a kids’ toy and clothes purge.
- Rough plans for the 2013 garden (will finalize in early January).
- Clean out the fridge and pantry (that’s today!!).
- Finalize my 2013 goals.
In case you missed it, I shared even more 2013 New Year Resources last week you might wish to check out.
Happy New Year’s!
